Our signature piece epitomizes the mission of the VCPA. This compelling,
unflinching live presentation of the trials and anecdotes of the military
experience during a time of war is back by popular demand. Fit For Society,
written by Brian Monahan and Stephan Wolfert, had its world premiere at
the VCPA over one year ago and played to sold out houses for over
eighteen weeks! Honest, funny, moving, poignant and awe-inspiring, Fit for
Society is told from the perspective of actual soldiers, survivors and family
members. Written by Brian Monahan & Stephan Wolfert.

The VCPA brings its unique touch to this literary classic by Charles
Dickens. Five actors tell this epic tale in a high-energy, family friendly, 90-
minute version where Scrooge and Marley were Army buddies. From the
people who brought you the critically acclaimed two-person version of Man
of La Mancha comes this neo-classic. Pre-sales are at a new high for the
VCPA so reserve seats early.
PRODUCITONS IN DEVELOPMENT For 2009/2010
It is estimated that 27% of all women currently serving in the US military
have been raped. Commanders have committed the majority of these rapes;
it’s called “rape by rank”. More than any other time in our nation’s history
we have female soldiers serving in combat roles. Combat is a harrowing
experience but add rape and therapists have labeled it: Double Whammy. A
theatrical presentation of the accomplishments, the experiences and the
tragedies of female soldiers.
Written by Kurt Gibbons (USAF, Iraq War), A Veterans’ Blog is a live,
multimedia presentation of photographs, video, narration and examination
of the Iraqi War experience from the soldiers’ perspective. Presented by
USAF Combat Photographer Kurt Gibbons and Iraqi citizen/Coalition
Forces Interpreter Hass Al-Assady.
Before veteran Nick Corea passed away, he wrote about his experiences in
Viet Nam. Nick’s honesty takes you into a world that most people want to
avoid. His, almost sick, sense of humor in the face of waiting tragedy gives
insight as to why our veteran rarely want to share their experiences when
they return from war. Nick wrote his stories the way he lived his life after
the war, “he tells it like it was and leaves you to deal with it”.
A theatrical presentation of the accomplishments, the experiences and the
under-recognition of our nations African American veterans throughout our
nations military history.
A world premiere play by Army veteran Patrick Gorman. Yours Truly, is a
theatrical presentation of the military experience from Yorktown to
Afghanistan.
