Stephan left a career in the military for a life in the theatre. Since leaving the Army, as an Infantry officer, he has: received his Master of Fine Arts degree, in theatre, from Trinity Rep Conservatory; created and directed the military segments for Twyla Tharp/Billy Joel’s Tony-award winning Broadway musical Movin’ Out; created the largest touring Shakespeare Company in New England; and taught acting and Shakespeare at Cornell University. Stephan currently teaches and directs at the Antelope Valley College and performs with three theatre companies in Los Angeles.

As an actor Stephan continues to perform for film, television, regional and summer stock theatres. He currently performs with Tony Plana’s East Classic Theatre Company, Will & Company and Native Voices at the Autry. A few of his favorite roles performed include: Richard III, Richard III; Petruchio, Taming of the Shrew; Antony, Antony and Cleopatra; Cassius, Julius Caesar; Mercutio, Romeo & Juliet; Henry Higgins, My Fair Lady and Clifford, Sideman. According to the United States Department of Veterans Affairs there are over twenty-five million living veterans. Three out of four have served during a war or an official period of hostility. About a quarter of the nation’s population-approximately seventy million people-are veterans. In the current global climate those numbers are increasing every day. Therefore, it is imperative that we increase our efforts in assisting our returning service members, family members and survivors with their transition back into the civilian community.

Celebrating our Military Veterans by developing & producing their original works for the stage.
